Dial and Hands
The silver sunburst dial is exceptionally clean and attractive, featuring crisp printing with no visible loss. The applied Rado anchor and twin seahorse logos remain completely intact, providing excellent depth against the bright dial surface. A distinctive red date display adds a vibrant touch to the layout. The Dauphine style hands display honest aging consistent with the vintage of the watch, showing darkened luminous material and light oxidation visible on the metal surfaces under magnification.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case remains in well-preserved vintage condition with honest wear. It retains sharp lug geometry with well-defined edges and exhibits only light surface scratches on the polished flanks. The polished bezel shows light handling marks, while the domed acrylic crystal is clear with no major scratches or crazing visible. The original Rado crown is clearly signed with the brand logo and features well-defined knurling. Turning the watch over reveals deep and clearly legible caseback engravings.
Movement
Inside is the 30-jewel automatic Caliber 1789, featuring clean plates and bridges alongside a bright, intact gold-tone rotor. The movement shows no visible signs of corrosion or moisture damage and bears crisp engravings reading RADO, 30 JEWELS, SWISS, and 1789. +25+27s/day. Performing well within expected vintage tolerances; running strong and steady.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a period correct stainless steel mesh Milanese bracelet that suits the vintage aesthetic perfectly. It remains in clean condition with no visible kinks or heavy wear, comfortably accommodating a maximum wrist size of 19cm.
Condition
Excellent vintage condition. The watch is highly attractive overall, defined by an exceptionally clean dial and well-preserved case geometry that shows only light surface scratches on the polished flanks. The hands display honest aging and light oxidation, while the crystal and bezel remain quite clear. The movement is remarkably clean for its era and, supported by the timegrapher data, is running strong and steady.
