Dial and Hands
The grey sunburst dial finish is clean and well-preserved, creating a striking and highly legible visual presence. Applied indices with white inserts remain intact, complemented by crisp printed text and the signature rotating Rado anchor logo. A red date display adds a distinct visual contrast against the grey backdrop. The baton hands feature matching white inserts and retain their original appearance with light aging. Under macro inspection, minor surface oxidation and dust are visible on the hands, alongside natural aging on the luminous plots.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel cushion case design is defined by its polished front and brushed flanks, representing honest vintage wear consistent with age. The case edges remain reasonably defined but show expected signs of use. Moderate scratches and scuffs are visible throughout the case, particularly on the polished bezel area, which is integrated directly into the case geometry. The watch is fitted with a domed acrylic crystal that displays light surface scratches in reflections, though it remains free of major cracks or chips. A signed crown featuring the Rado anchor logo is present, showing moderate surface wear.
Movement
Powering the watch is an automatic movement based on the 2783 caliber architecture, featuring 25 jewels and a signed rotor. The mechanism presents a generally clean appearance, with minor tarnish visible on the rotor surface. Engravings including the brand and caliber details are clearly legible. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The raw timegrapher result is +15+17s/day.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a period correct stainless steel block-link bracelet that suits the 1970s aesthetic well. It secures with an unsigned fold-over clasp. The bracelet exhibits moderate surface scratches and wear consistent with the condition of the case. It accommodates a maximum wrist size of 18cm.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The watch presents an honest, well-preserved appearance with moderate scratches and scuffs visible throughout the case and bracelet, particularly on the polished integrated bezel. The dial is remarkably clean, while the hands show minor oxidation, dust, and aged luminous material under close inspection. The domed acrylic crystal displays light surface scratches. Supported by the recorded timegrapher result, the movement is performing very strongly.
Dimensions
The case measures 36 mm in diameter (excluding the crown).

History
During the 1970s, Rado established a distinct design language characterized by bold case geometries and innovative material uses. The Cornell model line represents a classic expression of this era, utilizing the reliable ETA 2783 caliber family to provide dependable automatic timekeeping. The signature rotating anchor logo on the dial became a hallmark of Rado watches, serving as both a visual interest point and an indicator of the self-winding mechanism within. This era of production solidifies the brand's reputation for creating visually distinct and mechanically robust timepieces.
