Dial and Hands
The black dial presents in excellent condition, featuring silver guilloche subdials that create a striking reverse panda style. The printed text remains crisp and intact throughout, while the luminous indices show consistent and attractive aging. The date window at 3 o'clock is clean, adding everyday utility to the chronograph layout. The watch retains its original white baton hour and minute hands with luminous inserts, which exhibit noticeable surface aging, including dark spotting and degradation on the white paint and luminous material. Conversely, the black subdial hands appear clean, and the chronograph sweep hand features a luminous tip.
Case and Crystal
The 38mm stainless steel case displays the classic Speedmaster twisted lugs, retaining visible brushed and polished finishes. The case exhibits honest wear consistent with age and use, characterized by moderate scratches and scuffs visible on the polished flanks and lugs. The stainless steel tachymeter bezel shows mostly clear engraved numerals, along with noticeable scratches, scuffs, and small dings around its outer edge and surface. The caseback exterior features a clear seahorse engraving and the serial number. The domed crystal is clear, with no major scratches or chips visible, providing an unobstructed view of the dial. A signed crown with a well-defined fluted grip and well-preserved pump pushers complete the case profile.
Movement
Inside beats the Omega Caliber 1155, a 17-jewel automatic chronograph movement. The caliber features a handsome gold-toned finish on the plates and rotor, appearing clean with no obvious signs of corrosion or damage, while the screw heads and components look well-preserved. The movement recorded a timegrapher result of +5+6s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece.
Strap
The watch is fitted with its original signed bracelet in stainless steel. The clasp is signed with the Omega logo and Speedmaster text, while the endlinks are stamped 813. The bracelet exhibits normal signs of wear, including moderate scratches and desk-diving marks across the links and clasp. It accommodates a maximum wrist size of 17.5cm.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The case and tachymeter bezel show honest signs of wear, including moderate scratches, scuffs, and small dings consistent with regular use. The reverse panda dial is well-preserved with excellent contrast, though the original main hands display noticeable degradation and spotting to the white paint and luminous material. The original stainless steel bracelet shows expected desk-diving marks.

History
The Speedmaster line expanded significantly in the late twentieth century to include automatic alternatives to the traditional manual-wind models. These automatic iterations, often featuring slightly more compact case dimensions and practical date functions, brought the famed Speedmaster aesthetic to a broader audience seeking everyday convenience. The Caliber 1155 provided these chronographs with a robust and proven mechanical foundation. Examples from the 1990s represent a distinct era in Omega history, offering classic proportions and reliable utility.
