Dial and Hands
Exceptionally clean and well-preserved, the silver sunburst dial is in excellent condition. It features applied baton indices with black inserts, complemented by an applied Omega logo and the signature Constellation star. The printed text remains clean and crisp, and a framed date window is positioned at three o'clock. The original stick hands match the indices with their own black inserts, showing clean surfaces with minimal signs of oxidation. The sweep center seconds hand is also in good condition.
Case and Crystal
The classic C-shape case design retains its well-preserved original geometry, featuring brushed upper surfaces and polished flanks. The stainless steel shows light surface scratches and minor handling marks consistent with its age, presenting in honest vintage condition. A smooth steel bezel surrounds the dial, displaying light surface wear consistent with the rest of the case. The caseback features a crisp observatory medallion with all eight stars clearly defined, and the inner caseback is correctly stamped with the reference 168.017 SP. The scalloped crown is clearly signed with the Omega logo. A domed acrylic crystal protects the dial, offering clear visibility with some light surface scratches visible under harsh lighting.
Movement
Powering this timepiece is the chronometer-certified Omega caliber 564, a 24-jewel automatic movement adjusted to five positions and temperature. The copper-colored plating is bright and intact, with no visible signs of corrosion or moisture damage. The rotor and bridges are clean, and the screw heads appear in good condition. The movement is correctly engraved with the serial number 29416237. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The timegrapher records a rate of +10+13s/day with strong amplitude.
Strap
The watch is fitted with its original signed Omega reference 1118 stainless steel bracelet, featuring endlinks stamped 582. The clasp is signed with the Omega logo and stamped 31 1118 NOV LINK. The bracelet displays honest wear, with moderate stretch and surface scratches consistent with regular use. It accommodates a maximum wrist fit of up to 18.5cm.
Condition
Excellent vintage condition. The exceptionally clean silver sunburst dial and original hands are beautifully preserved, showing minimal signs of aging. The C-shape stainless steel case retains its original geometry with light handling marks, and the caseback medallion remains notably crisp. The original matching bracelet shows moderate stretch and honest surface wear. Mechanically, the watch is running beautifully, supported by strong timegrapher results.
