Dial and Hands

Case and Crystal
The stainless steel tonneau case retains its handsome factory finishes, displaying brushed upper surfaces contrasting against polished flanks. The case exhibits honest vintage wear, presenting moderate scratches and handling marks consistent with its age, while the edges remain reasonably defined. A polished smooth bezel frames the dial, showing light scratches and scuffs from normal use. The watch is fitted with a signed Omega crown featuring well-defined knurling. Above the dial, the flat acrylic crystal is clear, with only minor surface scratches visible under harsh light.

Powering this timepiece is the automatic Omega Caliber 1012. The movement displays Omega's characteristic copper-toned plating and maintains a clean overall appearance, bearing the correct engravings including the 36166592 serial number. There are some minor marks visible on the rotor edge and plates. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The timegrapher records a rate of +15+17s/day. The movement was serviced.

History
Introduced as a line to showcase Omega's precision and elegant design language, the Genève collection became a staple of the brand's catalog through the mid-20th century. By the 1970s, the Genève range embraced the bold, architectural styling of the era, frequently incorporating tonneau cases and integrated bracelets. The Caliber 1012, introduced during this period, was a reliable and efficient automatic movement that powered many of Omega's core models. Today, these 1970s Genève models are appreciated for their distinct vintage character and robust mechanical foundations.
