Dial and Hands
The silver tone dial is exceptionally clean and well-preserved, defined by a distinct vertical brushed finish. Applied faceted indices feature black central inserts, perfectly complementing the applied Bulova logo and the framed date window positioned at 3 o'clock. The surface remains free of visible spotting or moisture damage. The baton style hands display black central stripes matching the indices. Under macro inspection, minor surface dust or light aging is visible on the hands, though there is no significant corrosion, maintaining an excellent visual condition that matches the dial.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case features a classic 1960s cushion shape profile with a polished finish throughout. The case design integrates the crystal surround directly into the cushion body, presenting honest vintage wear with preserved geometry. Light surface scratches consistent with normal wear are present, but there are no major dents or deep dings visible. The reverse side features the classic Bulova ballerina caseback engraving. A knurled unsigned crown is fitted to the side, appearing appropriately sized for the case. The domed acrylic crystal is clear, exhibiting no major scratches or crazing, and provides a clean view of the dial.
Movement
Inside is the in-house Bulova caliber 11 ALACD, a 23-jewel automatic movement. The clean plates and rotor are engraved with BULOVA WATCH Co, 11 ALACD, 23 JEWELS TWENTYTHREE, SWISS, and the M8 date code. There is no visible corrosion or significant tool marks, and the gilt gears present very well. The timegrapher records a rate of 30+35s/day. Performing well within expected vintage tolerances; running strong and steady.

History
During the late 1960s, Bulova produced a wide variety of robust automatic timepieces tailored for everyday wear. The cushion case design became highly popular during this era, offering a slightly more substantial footprint on the wrist while maintaining elegant proportions. The inclusion of the ballerina caseback engraving was a signature touch for many of Bulova's capable models from this period. Equipped with their reliable in-house automatic calibers, these watches represent a highly creative and productive era for the American-founded brand.
