Dial and Hands
The dial is exceptionally clean and attractive, defined by a beautifully preserved silver sunburst finish that catches the light with subtle brilliance. The applied indices and the crisp Seiko logo provide excellent depth, while the "CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED" printing remains fully intact. A highly desirable feature is the day/date aperture at three o'clock, which includes both English and Japanese Kanji text. The black baton hands offer a striking contrast against the bright dial, displaying a clean finish with no visible oxidation or damage. Under close macro inspection, only minor dust particles are visible, doing little to detract from the dial's excellent preservation.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case displays honest wear consistent with its age, maintaining a handsome overall presence on the wrist. The polished flanks exhibit surface scratches and minor dings, while the edges show some softening from wear and possible past polishing. The integrated smooth bezel carries surface scratches consistent with the rest of the case. On the right side, the crown is clearly signed with the KS logo, showing good definition. The caseback features a personalized engraving celebrating twenty years of service, providing a charming historical touch. The flat crystal offers clear visibility of the dial beneath, though it does present some minor surface scratches and dust.
Movement
Inside this watch beats the Seiko Caliber 5626B, a 25-jewel automatic hi-beat movement renowned for its smooth sweep and precise operation. The movement presents beautifully, with clean plates and bridges, an intact rotor, and no visible corrosion or significant staining. The caliber is clearly engraved with the Seiko name and jewel count. Recording +15+18s/day on the timegrapher, it is exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The movement was serviced on 29 June 2026.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a brown leather strap featuring white contrast stitching. The strap appears new or very lightly used, providing an attractive pairing that complements the classic tones of the dial and case.
Condition
Excellent vintage condition. The movement was serviced on 29 June 2026 and, supported by the recorded timegrapher result, is performing very strongly. The silver sunburst dial and black baton hands are exceptionally clean and well-preserved, showing only minor dust particles under macro magnification. The stainless steel case and smooth bezel present honest wear, with surface scratches, minor dings on the polished sections, and some softening to the edges from age and previous polishing. The crystal remains clear, bearing only minor surface scratches and dust. The movement is clean and visually excellent.
