Dial and Hands
Heavy, uniform spotting and patina across the entire dial surface creates a distinct stardust effect. The crosshair design remains visible beneath the aging, complemented by an applied Rado anchor logo and faceted indices. A notable detail is the date window, which displays striking red numerals. The Dauphine style hands exhibit visible oxidation and spotting, aging consistently with the dial, while the sweep seconds hand shows minor wear.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case features a polished finish and retains generally good shape in the lugs. It shows moderate surface scratches and handling marks consistent with age. The caseback is well-preserved, featuring crisp twin seahorse engravings and patent numbers. A smooth polished bezel frames the watch, bearing light scratches and wear consistent with the case. The original knurled crown is clearly signed with the letter R. The domed acrylic crystal presents minor surface scratches visible under direct light, with no major cracks or chips.
Movement
Powered by the 30-jewel automatic A. Schild (AS) 1701 movement, a caliber produced by one of ETA's predecessor companies. The date function utilizes an early semi-quickset mechanism where the hands must be moved repeatedly backwards and forwards between 8:50 PM and midnight to advance the date. Visually, the movement maintains a clean overall appearance. The rotor is signed and features the Rado anchor logo, with Caliber 1701 stamped under the balance wheel alongside the AS shield. Performing well within expected vintage tolerances; running strong and steady.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a black leather strap featuring alligator-style embossing and contrasting white stitching. The strap appears to be in near-new condition.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The watch presents honest vintage wear, with the dial exhibiting heavy, uniform spotting and patina that creates a distinct stardust effect, matched by visible oxidation on the hands. The stainless steel case shows moderate surface scratches and handling marks, while the caseback engravings remain remarkably crisp. The domed acrylic crystal bears minor surface scratches. The timegrapher result is +20+22s/day.
Dimensions
The case measures 34 mm, excluding the crown.

History
The Rado World Travel is a standard production model from the 1960s era of the brand. During this period, Rado often utilized reliable third-party calibers, such as the A. Schild (AS) 1701 automatic movement found in this example. The inclusion of distinctive elements like the crosshair dial and applied anchor logo highlights Rado's mid-century design language and enduring appeal among collectors of the era.
