    Over dit horloge

Now available at auction from Second Vintage This classic 1970s Omega Genève commands attention with its striking deep blue sunburst dial and practical day-date complication. Preserved in excellent condition, the vibrant dial character and well-defined stainless steel case make this an exceptionally attractive example of Omega's mid-century design language. Brand: Omega Model: Genève Reference Number: 166 0169 Serial Number: 35565519 Movement: Automatic, Caliber 1022 Dial: Deep blue sunburst with applied baton indices and day-date display Case Size: 35mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Stainless Steel Production Year: 1972 Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Timegrapher: -4-6s/day, performing remarkably well. Dial and Hands The vibrant deep blue dial features a subtle sunburst finish that remains exceptionally clean, showing no visible moisture damage or significant spotting. Applied baton indices feature white inserts and intact luminous dots, complementing the crisp, fully intact dial text and the cleanly printed day and date window at 3 o'clock. The original baton hands, also featuring white inserts and luminous material, display light age-appropriate patina with minor oxidation visible on the metal surfaces under magnification. The luminous material on the hands appears intact and matches the dial plots beautifully. Case and Crystal The stainless steel case displays honest wear with preserved geometry, featuring brushed upper surfaces that transition smoothly to polished flanks. The case edges and lug profiles remain reasonably well-defined, exhibiting light surface scratches and minor handling marks consistent with age. A smooth steel bezel is integrated cleanly with the case, showing light hairline scratches that match the overall wear. The watch is fitted with a signed Omega crown displaying well-defined knurling. A clear domed acrylic crystal protects the dial, presenting minimal signs of wear with no deep scratches, crazing, or cracks visible. Movement Inside the case beats the copper-colored Omega Caliber 1022 automatic movement. The caliber presents a clean appearance with no obvious corrosion, oxidation, or damage, while the rotor and bridges retain their original factory finishing. The screw heads appear in good condition, and the movement proudly displays its engraved details. The timegrapher recorded a rate of -4-6s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. Strap The watch is fitted with a black leather strap featuring a crocodile pattern and a generic steel pin buckle. The strap shows light wear from use but remains highly serviceable and complements the aesthetic of the watch perfectly. Condition Excellent vintage condition. The dial is exceptionally preserved and vibrant, while the stainless steel case retains honest geometry alongside light, age-appropriate surface scratches. The acrylic crystal and hands show minimal to light aging consistent with careful use. Supported by the recorded timegrapher result, the movement is performing very strongly. Dimensions The case measures 35mm in diameter (excluding the crown). Remarks This Omega Genève offers a highly practical day-date complication paired with a beautifully preserved blue sunburst dial. Driven by the reliable Caliber 1022 and presented in honest vintage condition, it is a versatile and compelling addition to any collection. History Introduced as a line of elegant, reliable watches, the Omega Genève collection became a staple of the brand's catalog throughout the mid-twentieth century. By the 1970s, the Genève range incorporated practical complications and robust automatic movements like the Caliber 1022, offering everyday utility housed in classic stainless steel proportions. Today, well-preserved examples from this era, particularly those featuring striking colored dials, are appreciated by enthusiasts for their distinct 1970s character and enduring mechanical quality.
