History
Introduced in the late 1950s, the Seiko Crown represented a significant step forward in Seiko's pursuit of high-precision watchmaking. It served as the foundational architecture for the first Grand Seiko in 1960, utilizing a large manual wind movement that allowed for greater accuracy and stability. The Crown line was positioned as a premium offering, distinguished by elegant dials, dauphine hands, and refined case proportions. Today, it remains a historically significant model that illustrates the transition of Japanese watchmaking into a globally competitive era.
