Remarks This 1972 Lord Matic is distinguished by its exceptionally clean and vibrant blue sunburst dial. Complete with its original signed bracelet and a recently serviced movement that is performing strongly, it represents a highly compelling example of classic Japanese watchmaking. History Developed by Seiko's Suwa division in Nagano Prefecture, the Lord Matic line is a classic example of JDM production from the 1970s. It is powered by the caliber 5606, an automatic movement that features hand-winding, hacking, and operates at 21,600 beats per hour. While the 5606 is a respected and reliable engine, collectors note that the caliber utilizes a plastic date corrector wheel which is known to be fragile over time. This 1972 example delivers a highly appreciated design and dependable performance, preserving the authentic mechanical character of its era.
