Dial and Hands
The exceptionally clean and vibrant deep blue dial features the signature wave pattern that defines this era of Seamasters. Applied luminous indices surround the dial, complemented by a prominently placed date window at 3 o'clock. The crisp dial printing remains sharply defined with no visible degradation. Time is indicated by well-preserved skeletonized hands with luminous tips, displaying a clean finish entirely free from visible oxidation or damage.
Case and Crystal
The 38mm stainless steel case displays polished flanks and brushed lugs, topped by a smooth polished steel bezel. The case exhibits honest wear, showing light surface scratches on the polished areas and bezel consistent with normal use, alongside a noticeable ding on the lower edge of the lug bearing the serial number. The watch is operated via a signed Omega crown in good condition with defined fluting. A flat sapphire crystal protects the dial, remaining clear with no visible scratches, chips, or hazing.
Movement
Inside is the Omega caliber 1538, a 6-jewel quartz movement. The caliber presents cleanly, with no visible signs of battery leakage, corrosion, or damage. Visible engravings confirm the caliber number, jewel count, and Swiss origin.
Strap
The watch is fitted with its original signed stainless steel multi-link bracelet, which accommodates a maximum wrist size of 19cm. The folding clasp features a distinct gold-tone Omega logo inlay. The bracelet and clasp show moderate surface scratches consistent with regular wear, presenting in solid condition with normal signs of use.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The dial, hands, and sapphire crystal are exceptionally well preserved and vibrant. The stainless steel case and original bracelet present honest wear, characterized by moderate surface scratches from regular use and the previously noted ding on the lower edge of one lug. The quartz movement is clean and intact.
Dimensions
The case measures 38mm in diameter (excluding the crown).
Remarks
This Seamaster offers a highly recognizable 1990s aesthetic anchored by its beautiful blue wave dial. Complete with its original signed bracelet featuring the gold-tone logo inlay and powered by a reliable quartz movement, it delivers a distinctive and enjoyable wearing experience.
History
The Omega Seamaster line underwent a significant design evolution in the 1990s, introducing the wave pattern dials and skeletonized hands that became synonymous with the brand's modern sports watches. These models successfully bridged the gap between robust utility and refined daily wear. The caliber 1538 quartz movement provided precision and reliability, making these specific Seamasters highly practical companions for enthusiasts of the era.
