The printing remains sharp and crisp throughout, showing no visible spotting or damage.
Case and Crystal
The distinctive square, cushion-shaped case displays honest wear consistent with its age, retaining well-defined overall geometry. The gold-plated surfaces show light surface scratches and some visible plating wear on the rear edges near the stainless steel caseback. Its integrated bezel design flows smoothly into the case profile, while the gold-tone crown is signed with the Omega logo and shows light wear. A flat acrylic crystal protects the dial, bearing some light surface scratches visible under certain lighting angles.
Movement
Inside the case is the Omega Caliber 1012 automatic movement, featuring the brand's signature copper-colored finishing. The plates and bridges are clean with no visible corrosion, and the signed rotor remains present and clearly engraved. Stamped with the serial number 37273485 matching the era, the movement is in excellent visual condition. The timegrapher records a rate of +1+3s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece.

The original beads-of-rice bracelet complements the case with matching normal wear and light plating fade. The flat acrylic crystal shows minor surface scratches. Supported by the recorded timegrapher result of +1+3s/day, the movement is performing very strongly.

History
In 1973, Omega officially included the reference ST 162.0052 in its international collection. The model features a distinctive square or TV-style case that intentionally departs from traditional round watch designs, reflecting the bold aesthetic shifts of the 1970s. Powering the watch is the Omega Caliber 1012, a high-beat automatic movement introduced in 1972 that includes a practical quickset date function. This combination of robust in-house mechanics and unique case geometry makes the 162.0052 a fascinating snapshot of Omega's mid-century catalog.
