Dial and Hands
The gold-tone dial features a striking vertically brushed finish that catches the light beautifully, presenting in well-preserved, clean condition with no significant spotting or damage visible. Applied indices with black inserts provide excellent contrast against the textured background. The matching stick hands also feature black inserts, complementing the indices perfectly and maintaining the cohesive aesthetic of the watch.
Case and Crystal
The square cushion case profile delivers unmistakable 1970s geometry. The case shows honest wear throughout, with visible scratches and handling marks consistent with its age. Some wear to the gold plating is present, particularly located on the edges and lug tips. The watch features a domed acrylic crystal that exhibits light surface scratches visible under certain lighting angles. A gold-tone crown, clearly signed with the Omega logo, completes the case and displays some wear to its fluting.
Movement
Inside the case resides the manual-wind Omega Caliber 1030. The movement displays the copper-colored plating typical of Omega from this era and presents a generally clean appearance, with some light scratches noted on the plates and screw heads. Engravings for Omega, Swiss, the caliber number, and the matching serial number are clearly visible. Timegrapher results measure +30+35s/day. Performing well within expected vintage tolerances; running strong and steady.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a black leather strap featuring contrast stitching in white and brown or orange tones. The strap shows light wear and provides a casual, comfortable fit on the wrist.
Condition
Good vintage condition. The dial and hands remain in excellent, clean shape, serving as a strong focal point for the timepiece. The case exhibits visible scratches, handling marks, and wear to the gold plating along the edges and lug tips, reflecting honest use over the decades. The domed acrylic crystal shows light surface scratches, and the signed crown displays wear to the fluting. The movement is clean with minor surface scratches on the plates and screw heads, performing strongly on the timegrapher.
Dimensions
The case measures 31 mm in diameter, excluding the crown.
Remarks
This Omega Genève appeals directly to enthusiasts of 1970s design with its square cushion case and exceptionally clean vertically brushed dial. The matching black-inserted indices and hands create a highly legible display, making this an excellent manual-wind addition to any collection.
History
