The original dauphine-style hands match the indices with their own black inserts, though they display noticeable age-related oxidation and spotting on the metal surfaces, alongside minor aging on the sweep seconds hand.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case displays honest vintage wear while retaining well-preserved geometry. The polished bezel and brushed-to-polished lug transitions are intact, with edges remaining generally well-defined. The case and smooth polished bezel show moderate surface scratches, handling marks, and light wear consistent with age. The caseback features a crisp Seamaster seahorse medallion, and the watch retains its signed Omega crown, which exhibits well-defined knurling and light surface wear. The domed acrylic crystal is clear, showing only minor surface scratches with no major cracks or chips visible.

Inside beats the automatic Omega Caliber 565, a 24-jewel movement displaying bright and intact copper-colored plating. The rotor and bridges are clean, with no visible corrosion, oxidation, or significant tool marks. The movement features crisp engravings including "OMEGA WATCH Co SWISS", the Omega logo, the caliber 565, and the matching serial number. The timegrapher records -10-13s/day with strong amplitude. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The movement was serviced on 4 July 2026.

Condition
Good vintage condition. The movement was serviced on 4 July 2026 and, supported by the recorded timegrapher result, is performing very strongly. The dial is exceptionally well-preserved and clean, while the original hands show visible oxidation. The stainless steel case and original beads of rice bracelet display honest wear, surface scratches, and handling marks commensurate with their age, yet retain strong overall geometry and a crisp caseback medallion.

History
The Omega Seamaster line, introduced in 1948, was born from the brand's experience producing robust watches for the British military during the Second World War. By the 1960s, the Seamaster had evolved into a versatile collection, balancing rugged reliability with refined, everyday elegance. The Caliber 565, introduced during this era, is widely respected among collectors for its robust architecture and dependable automatic winding system. Watches from this period represent a golden era of Omega's mechanical watchmaking, characterized by distinctive case geometries and enduring dial designs.
