Dial and Hands
The silver sunburst dial is a masterclass in clean, legible 1970s design, presenting in stunningly well-preserved condition. The dial surface is virtually flawless, showing no visible moisture marks, spotting, or discoloration, allowing the sunburst texture to catch the light beautifully. It features applied, faceted block indices that are detailed with black central channels, providing excellent contrast. The applied Tissot logo and "T" shield sit proudly below the 12 o'clock position, while the "Seastar Automatic" text is crisply printed in a black sans-serif font above 6 o'clock. A framed date aperture is positioned at 3 o'clock. The matching baton hands also feature black inserts and are in excellent condition, complementing the overall sharp and cohesive aesthetic of the dial.
Case and Crystal
The 37mm stainless steel cushion case perfectly captures the architectural styling of its decade. A standout feature is the prominent radial brushing on the upper surface of the case, which contrasts handsomely with the polished case flanks. The transition between these brushed and polished surfaces remains distinct, indicating that the case has been well-respected over the years, showing only honest, light handling marks and superficial scratches consistent with careful wear. The original Tissot-signed crown is present and well-defined. Turning the watch over reveals a screw-down caseback with a decagonal outer profile, clearly stamped internally with the Tissot crest and reference number 44805-1. The watch is fitted with a clear acrylic crystal that protects the dial perfectly and shows no distracting flaws.
Movement
Inside beats the Tissot Caliber 2481, a robust automatic movement developed during Tissot's historic partnership with Omega. The movement is visually striking, featuring golden-toned plates and bridges with a brushed automatic winding rotor. Close inspection reveals the caliber number "2481" clearly stamped near the balance wheel, and the serial number "16406228" engraved on the automatic framework, dating the watch to the early 1970s. The movement presents in exceptionally clean visual condition, with bright components and no visible signs of moisture intrusion or careless tool marks. Watch is operational within vintage parameters.
Strap
The watch is currently mounted on a handsome black leather strap featuring a classic crocodile-grain pattern and tonal stitching. The strap is secured with a standard stainless steel pin buckle, pairing elegantly with the silver dial and steel case.
Condition
This Tissot Seastar is presented in excellent vintage condition. The dial is the clear highlight, remaining incredibly fresh and free of the degradation often found in watches of this age. The case retains its factory-intended finishes, with the radial brushing on the bezel area still highly visible alongside normal, age-appropriate wear. The movement is visibly clean and well-preserved.

History
The Tissot Seastar collection has long been a cornerstone of the brand's catalog, originally introduced to highlight the impressive water resistance and durability of their timepieces. By the 1970s, the Seastar line evolved to embrace the bold, geometric trends of the era, moving away from traditional round cases to more substantial cushion and tonneau shapes. These watches were designed for the active professional who required a reliable, sturdy watch that still looked elegant in a formal setting. The inclusion of the Caliber 2481—a movement architecture shared with Omega—further cemented the Seastar's reputation as a high-quality, dependable Swiss timepiece.
