    À propos de cette montre

Presented for auction by Second Vintage This Rado Rising Star is a quintessential representation of 1970s Swiss watch design, featuring a robust cushion case and the brand's signature rotating anchor logo. It captures the transition era of horology where bold geometry met reliable mechanical engineering, offering a distinctive aesthetic that remains highly collectible today. Brand: Rado Model: Rising Star Reference Number: 11834/1 Serial Number: 36770505 Movement: ETA Caliber 2789 Automatic Dial: Black with applied indices and rotating anchor Case Size: 36 mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Stainless Steel Production Year: 1970s Condition: Good vintage condition. The watch shows honest signs of wear consistent with its age, while the dial remains attractive. Running and operational, offering vintage performance (see timegrapher). Dial and Hands The dial presents a deep charcoal black tone that provides high contrast against the furniture. It features substantial, applied faceted block indices that catch the light, complemented by a printed white minute track. The signature Rado anchor logo at the 12 o'clock position is set against a red background and is free-moving. A framed date window is positioned at 3 o'clock, displaying the date in a distinctive red font. The silver-tone baton hands contain luminous inserts that have aged to a dark, creamy patina, matching the small tritium plots found at the base of the hour markers. Case and Crystal The stainless steel case utilizes a cushion-shape profile characteristic of the 1970s, featuring a vertically brushed finish on the top surface that transitions into polished flanks. The case lines remain defined, though there are visible surface scratches and contact marks throughout, consistent with honest vintage use. The recessed crown is signed with the Rado anchor. The watch is fitted with a domed acrylic crystal which shows some crazing and surface marks when viewed under direct light. Movement Powering the watch is a Swiss-made automatic movement, identified as the ETA caliber 2789. The movement features a gold-plated rotor signed "RADO 25 JEWELS SWISS." The mechanism is visually clean, with the balance wheel active and the caliber stamp visible beneath the balance. The caseback seal area shows signs of age-related residue. Strap The watch is fitted with the originalt stainless steel multi-link bracelet. It features a fold-over clasp that is stamped with the Rado logo and anchor emblem. The bracelet exhibits moderate stretch and surface wear matching the case condition, fitting a wrist size of approximately 20cm. Condition This timepiece is in good vintage condition. The case and bracelet show visible scratches, dings, and signs of daily wear accumulated over decades. The dial is well-preserved with clear typography and intact applied markers. The movement is functioning, with the timegrapher showing a deviation of -51s to -60s/day. Dimensions The case measures 36 mm in diameter excluding the crown. The bracelet is sized to accommodate a wrist circumference of up to 20cm. Remarks The Rado Rising Star is a charming example of the brand's mid-century output, offering a unique case shape and the beloved rotating anchor feature. It stands as an authentic piece of 1970s design language, suitable for the enthusiast who appreciates vintage character and bold styling. History Rado, founded in Lengnau, Switzerland, in 1917 as Schlup & Co., began selling watches under the Rado brand name in the 1950s. The company became renowned for its innovative use of materials and distinct design language. The Rising Star model hails from an era when Rado was establishing its identity through water-resistant designs and the iconic rotating anchor symbol, which was originally intended to indicate when the movement required service. / Second Vintage SKU: RAD-RRS-0002
