Dial and Hands
The pristine and highly legible deep blue/grey dial features a fine matte, textured finish that provides an excellent backdrop for the applied silver-tone indices with black inserts. An applied Rado anchor logo with a red background sits prominently on the dial, perfectly complementing the striking red numerals on the date wheel at 3 o'clock. Crisp white printed 'BERG' and '- SWISS MADE -' text completes the layout. The dial shows no visible spotting, staining, or degradation. The baton-style hour and minute hands feature luminous strips, paired with a simple sweep second hand. All hands remain clean with no visible oxidation or corrosion.
Case and Crystal
The well-preserved tonneau and cushion-shaped case features a seamless integrated lug design. It displays a strong brushed finish on the top surfaces that transitions to crisp polished chamfers on the case edges. A smooth, polished raised bezel completes the unified architecture. The case and bezel exhibit light superficial scratches and hairline marks consistent with careful wear, free of any major dents or dings. The watch features a signed crown displaying the Rado anchor logo with well-defined knurled edges. The domed acrylic crystal is clear, with no significant scratches, crazing, or chips visible.
Movement
The watch is powered by a clean automatic movement based on the reliable ETA 2824 architecture, featuring 25 jewels. The signed rotor clearly displays "RADO" and "25 JEWELS", while the ETA shield and "2824" engraving are visible under the balance wheel. The caliber shows no visible corrosion, oxidation, or damaged screw heads. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece.
Strap
The watch is fitted with its original signed integrated stainless steel flat-link bracelet. The brushed finish perfectly matches the case, completing the cohesive 1970s design. The clasp is prominently signed with the Rado anchor logo and 'RADO'. The bracelet shows light wear and superficial scratches on the links and clasp, accommodating a maximum wrist size of up to 18.5cm.
Condition
Excellent vintage condition. The watch has been carefully preserved across all major components. The dial and hands remain pristine, while the case maintains its sharp original geometry and crisp polished chamfers. The case, bezel, and original integrated bracelet display only light superficial scratches consistent with gentle use, with no major impacts. Supported by the timegrapher data, the movement is running with remarkable accuracy.
