The stainless steel case features an appealing mix of brushed and polished surfaces. It remains in honest vintage condition, displaying light surface scratches and handling marks consistent with normal wear, while the case lines and edges remain relatively well-defined. A smooth polished bezel is integrated cleanly into the case design and shows light surface scratches. The unsigned knurled crown sits flush against the case side. The flat crystal is clear, with no significant scratches, chips, or crazing visible.

The rotor is notably detailed, featuring crisp red engraved text. 3s+6s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece.

Remarks
This Lord Matic Special offers a superb matte black dial that remains incredibly sharp. The inclusion of the Kanji day wheel and the highly regarded 5206A caliber provide excellent concrete reasons to acquire this specific example.
History
Introduced in the late 1960s, the Lord Matic line was positioned just below King Seiko and Grand Seiko, offering exceptional mechanical quality and refined design to the discerning public. The Special designation, often produced by the Daini Seikosha factory, featured upgraded movements like the 5200 series, which laid the architectural groundwork for many of Seiko's premium modern calibers. These watches represent a peak era of Japanese mechanical watchmaking before the quartz revolution fully took hold.
