The surface remains exceptionally clean with minimal signs of aging. Complementing the dial are silver-tone baton hands with central white stripes. These hands display minor oxidation and spotting visible under macro inspection, maintaining an authentic appearance with light aging.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case features classic Lord Matic geometry with an integrated smooth bezel. The polished finish presents honest wear consistent with age, displaying visible surface scratches and scuffs throughout, while the edges are slightly softened from wear and possible past polishing. The integrated bezel shows surface scratches consistent with the rest of the case. The domed crystal exhibits visible scratches and scuffs, particularly near the edges around the nine and six o'clock positions. The watch is operated via an unsigned crown featuring a knurled texture.
Movement
Powering the watch is the Seiko caliber 5606A, a 25-jewel automatic movement. The mechanism presents a clean overall appearance with no obvious signs of corrosion or heavy wear, showing only light superficial scratches on the rotor. The engravings remain clear and legible. Recording 6s+10s/day on the timegrapher, the movement is exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece.
Strap
The watch is paired with a black leather strap featuring white contrast stitching, which currently shows light visible wear.

Good vintage condition. The stainless steel case and smooth bezel present honest wear with visible surface scratches, scuffs, and slightly softened edges. The domed crystal shows edge scratches, while the deep black dial remains exceptionally clean and well-preserved. The hands exhibit minor oxidation under close inspection. Supported by the recorded timegrapher result, the movement is performing very strongly.

The case measures 36 mm (excluding the crown).
Remarks
This Lord Matic offers a striking black dial configuration paired with the highly capable 5606 automatic caliber. The classic 1970s case styling and practical day-date complication make it a highly wearable and attractive vintage Seiko.
History
Introduced in the late 1960s, the Lord Matic line occupied an important position in the Seiko catalog, offering sophisticated designs and advanced automatic movements to the domestic market. Positioned as a premium offering just below the King Seiko and Grand Seiko families, the Lord Matic series was highly successful. The 5600 series calibers were celebrated for their slim architecture and reliability, serving as the foundation for many of Seiko's upper-tier models during the 1970s. These watches remain appreciated by collectors for their excellent build quality and distinct period styling.
