Dial and Hands
The captivating deep blue dial features a distinct vertical brushed finish that plays beautifully with the light, offering a rich texture that shifts in different angles. It is adorned with applied silver-tone faceted baton indices, each featuring a crisp white central stripe that perfectly matches the stark white painted baton hands. The typography is clean and balanced, with the printed Omega logo and name at the top, and "De Ville" positioned above the six o'clock marker. Upon close inspection, the dial remains largely vibrant and well-preserved, though it does exhibit some honest age-related wear, specifically minor spotting and finish degradation along the extreme outer edge near the nine o'clock position. The hands are remarkably clean, maintaining their stark white finish without significant discoloration or damage.
Case and Crystal
The 33 mm stainless steel case presents a classic, ultra-thin dress profile with elegant, straight lugs that angle down smoothly to hug the wrist. The polished surfaces of the case and the smooth, rounded bezel show normal, age-consistent handling marks and light surface scratches, maintaining their original geometry without signs of heavy over-polishing. The original Omega-signed crown is present and features sharp knurling for easy winding. The solid caseback displays the deeply engraved De Ville logo and "TOOL 104" text, remaining crisp and highly legible. Inside the caseback, the Omega watchmaker triangle and reference 115.0001 are clearly stamped. The watch is fitted with a domed acrylic crystal that offers excellent clarity, showing only faint, superficial micro-abrasions typical of vintage wear.
Movement
Inside the case beats the Omega Caliber 620, a manually wound mechanical movement renowned for its slim architecture and enduring reliability. The beautiful copper-toned plating of the movement is in excellent visual condition and is clearly stamped with the Omega Watch Co. signature, indicating 17 jewels and adjustments to two positions. The serial number 34256535 is clearly visible on the mainplate, placing its production in the early 1970s. Performing well within expected vintage tolerances, running strong and steady. The timegrapher results indicate a deviation of -20 to -22 seconds per day.
Strap
The watch is paired with a handsome dark blue leather strap featuring an embossed alligator pattern and matching blue tonal stitching. It is secured with a classic polished stainless steel pin buckle, complementing the blue dial perfectly and offering a comfortable fit for dress or daily wear.
Condition
This Omega De Ville is in good vintage condition. The stainless steel case remains structurally sharp with honest, superficial wear. The striking blue dial retains its beautiful vertical brushing and crisp white printing, showing only localized edge wear that does not heavily detract from its overall wrist presence. The movement presents exceptionally clean and remains fully operational.
Dimensions
The case measures 33 mm in diameter excluding the crown, offering a classic, understated vintage dress watch proportion that sits elegantly flat on the wrist.
Remarks
The combination of a vibrant blue brushed dial, stark white accents, and the reliable Caliber 620 makes this De Ville a highly versatile and attractive vintage piece. It balances mid-century sophistication with a subtle pop of color, making it an excellent and highly wearable addition to any classic Omega collection.
