    About This Watch

Now available at auction from Second Vintage A classic 1970s Omega Constellation, this 1971 example presents a highly attractive vertically brushed silver dial housed within the classic tonneau C-shape case. Retaining its original signed flat-link bracelet and driven by the chronometer-certified Caliber 1011, this watch offers a distinct and highly recognizable aesthetic that defines the brand's design language of the era. Brand: Omega Model: Constellation Reference Number: 1680055 Serial Number: 33842467 Movement: Automatic Caliber 1011 Dial: Silver with a vertical brushed finish Case Size: 35mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Stainless Steel Production Year: 1971 Condition: Good vintage condition. Timegrapher: 10-15s/day, performing remarkably well. Dial and Hands The well-preserved silver dial features an attractive vertical brushed texture, providing a clean main surface with crisp typography. Applied baton indices with black inserts coordinate nicely with the matching stick hands, alongside the applied Omega logo and Constellation star. Light oxidation and minor dust are visible on the hands under magnification, though they remain free of significant corrosion. A touch of minor patina and discoloration is present on the extreme outer edge of the dial near the tension ring, adding honest character to this vintage timepiece. Case and Crystal The stainless steel case features the classic tonneau C-shape design with integrated lugs. The top surfaces retain a brushed finish that transitions to polished flanks. The case displays honest wear consistent with age and regular use, including moderate surface scratches and minor dings visible on the polished sides. While the edges show signs of normal wear, they remain reasonably defined. The smooth polished integrated bezel exhibits light surface scratches matching the rest of the case. The caseback displays the iconic observatory medallion. The watch is fitted with a signed Omega crown, where the knurling shows moderate wear but remains fully functional. The flat crystal is clean, providing clear visibility of the dial without any major scratches, chips, or cracks. Movement Powering this Constellation is the automatic Omega Caliber 1011, featuring 23 jewels and adjusted to five positions and temperature. The movement displays the copper-colored plating characteristic of vintage Omega calibers. While the plates and bridges appear generally clean with no heavy corrosion visible, there are noticeable surface scratches and wear marks present on the rotor. Recording 10-15s/day, it is exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. Strap The watch is fitted with its original signed steel flat-link style bracelet. The clasp is clearly signed with the Omega logo. The bracelet shows normal signs of use and stretch for its age, with moderate surface scratches and scuffs on the links and clasp that match the overall case wear. It will accommodate a maximum wrist fit of 18cm. Condition Good vintage condition. The dial is excellently preserved with a striking brushed finish and only minor edge patina, while the hands show light oxidation. The stainless steel case and bezel display moderate surface scratches and minor dings on the polished flanks, reflecting honest use. The original flat-link bracelet exhibits expected stretch and surface scuffs. Supported by the recorded timegrapher result, the movement is performing very strongly. Dimensions Case Size: 35mm (excluding the crown) Remarks This Constellation delivers a highly cohesive 1970s aesthetic through its C-shape case geometry and striking brushed silver dial. Complete with its original flat-link bracelet and running with strong performance, it offers a solid entry into one of Omega's most respected historical model lines. History The Omega Constellation was introduced in 1952 as the brand's flagship chronometer collection, distinguished by its precision movements and the observatory medallion on the caseback, which symbolized numerous precision trial victories. By the late 1960s and early 1970s, the line evolved to include the tonneau C-shape cases, reflecting the changing design trends of the era. The Caliber 1011, introduced during this period, was a high-frequency chronometer movement that continued the Constellation's reputation for mechanical reliability and accuracy. / Second Vintage SKU: OME-ACC-0007
