    About This Watch

Now available at auction from Second Vintage A beautifully preserved 1970s Longines Flagship complete with its original signed mesh bracelet. This particular example stands out through its exceptionally clean vertically brushed silver dial and the high-grade Caliber 6651 movement inside. Brand: Longines Model: Flagship Reference Number: 8473 7 Serial Number: 52061730 Movement: Automatic, Caliber 6651, 25 Jewels, Adjusted to 4 Positions and Temperature Dial: Silver with vertical brushed finish and applied baton indices Case Size: 27 mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Stainless Steel Production Year: 1974 Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Movement serviced on 23 August 2026. Timegrapher: +10+12s/day, performing remarkably well. Dial and Hands The dial is exceptionally clean and well-preserved, featuring a silver surface with a striking vertical brushed finish. Applied baton indices with black inserts provide excellent contrast and legibility, matched perfectly by the stick hands which carry identical black inserts. A date window is positioned at 3 o'clock. All printed text, including the Longines name, Flagship designation, and Swiss Made signature, remains crisp and fully intact. The surfaces are free from any visible spotting, staining, or damage, while the hands show clean surfaces with no visible oxidation or corrosion. Case and Crystal The stainless steel cushion-shaped case is well-preserved, retaining crisp original finishing transitions between the brushed top surfaces and polished flanks. There is no distinct bezel, as the flat acrylic crystal is set directly into the case. The crystal itself is clear with no significant scratches, crazing, or chips visible. The case exhibits only light superficial scratches consistent with careful wear over the decades. The watch is fitted with its signed crown, which features the Longines name and winged hourglass logo alongside well-defined knurling. On the reverse, the caseback exterior displays the case number 16838564, while the interior is correctly stamped with Longines branding and the reference 8473. Movement Inside the case beats the Longines Caliber 6651 automatic movement, a high-grade mechanism engraved with twenty-five jewels and adjusted to four positions and temperature. The movement is remarkably clean, showing no visible corrosion or significant wear. The rotor and bridges display bright finishing, and the screw heads appear unmarred. Recording a rate of +10+12s/day on the timegrapher, it is exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The movement was serviced on 23 August 2026. Strap The watch is fitted with its original signed stainless steel mesh bracelet, which is highly complementary to the cushion case design. The mesh is in excellent condition, showing no visible kinks or deformation. The clasp features an applied Longines winged hourglass logo, and the endlinks are stamped with the code 4052. The bracelet accommodates a maximum wrist size of 19 cm. Condition Excellent vintage condition. The movement was serviced on 23 August 2026 and, supported by the recorded timegrapher result, is performing very strongly. The case is well-preserved with distinct finishes and only light superficial scratches from careful use. The dial and hands are exceptionally clean, showing no visible damage or aging. The flat acrylic crystal remains clear and free of notable flaws. The original signed mesh bracelet is structurally sound and presents beautifully. Dimensions The case measures 27 mm in diameter (excluding the crown). Remarks This Longines Flagship offers a highly appealing combination of a pristine vertically brushed silver dial and a high-grade adjusted movement. The presence of its original signed mesh bracelet makes it a complete and compelling package for the vintage enthusiast. History Longines introduced the Flagship line in 1957 as a premium collection, characterized by high-quality movements and refined aesthetics. During the 1970s, the brand experimented with cushion case designs and integrated styling, reflecting the design language of the era. The Caliber 6651 is recognized among collectors as a robust and highly capable automatic movement, often adjusted to multiple positions for superior timekeeping. This 1974 example represents a well-preserved piece of that mechanical heritage. Payment and Shipping Payment must be completed within 1โ€“3 days after purchase. Your watch will be professionally and securely packaged, then shipped with tracking and insurance for your peace of mind.
