This timepiece distinguishes itself through its pristine vertically brushed silver dial and sharp stainless steel case, retaining its original finishes. Complete with its matching multi-link bracelet, this watch presents a highly attractive configuration. Brand: Longines Model: Admiral Reference Number: 8182-2-A Serial Number: 50482593 Movement: Automatic caliber 507 Dial: Silver vertically brushed with applied indices Case Size: 35mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Stainless steel Production Year: 1970s Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Timegrapher: -5-8s/day, performing remarkably well. Dial and Hands The pristine vertically brushed silver dial is in excellent condition, displaying a clean and bright surface with no visible spotting, staining, or moisture damage. The applied indices and the signature five-star Admiral logo remain sharp and highly reflective, while all printed text is crisp and fully intact. The lume plots positioned at the outer edge of the indices show consistent, natural aging. The watch features clean baton hands with black central stripes, containing luminous material that perfectly matches the dial plots. The metal surfaces of the hands are bright with minimal oxidation, and the sweep second hand remains straight and clean. Case and Crystal The 35mm stainless steel case offers a crisp and well-preserved vintage geometry with well-defined edges. The original brushed finish on the upper surfaces appears beautifully maintained, providing a handsome contrast to the polished flanks, which show only light superficial scratches consistent with careful wear. There are no significant dents or deep scratches visible. The smooth polished bezel is integrated into the case design and displays light hairline scratches matching the flanks. A knurled crown is present on the side of the case. The domed acrylic crystal is clear, presenting no significant scratches or crazing, ensuring an unobstructed view of the dial. Movement Inside beats the Longines caliber 507 automatic movement, visually clean and bright. The rotor and bridges display clean finishing, with no visible corrosion, oxidation, or damaged screw heads. The movement is clearly engraved with Longines, the 507 caliber designation, the serial number 50482593, Seventeen 17 Jewels, and Swiss. The timegrapher records a rate of -5-8s/day. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. Strap The watch is fitted with its original signed multi-link stainless steel bracelet. The brushed finish on the clasp is well preserved, and the clasp itself features a prominent applied Longines winged hourglass logo. The links show light wear but appear tight and well-maintained. The bracelet accommodates a maximum wrist size of 18.5cm. Condition Excellent vintage condition. The watch has been thoroughly preserved, with the dial standing out for its pristine brushed finish and clean applied markers. The stainless steel case retains its sharp lines and original contrasting finishes, showing only light superficial scratches from careful use. The original matching bracelet remains tight and highly wearable, and the movement delivers strong timekeeping performance supported by the recorded timegrapher data. Dimensions The case measures 35mm (excluding the crown). Remarks This Longines Admiral is highly appealing due to its remarkably clean dial, sharp case geometry, and the inclusion of its original signed bracelet. The crisp condition of the applied five-star logo and the strong mechanical performance make this a highly capable and attractive vintage daily wearer. History The Longines Admiral line represents a significant chapter in the brand's mid-century production, recognized for its robust automatic movements and classic styling. The prominent five stars frequently applied to Admiral dials were designed to symbolize the highest hierarchical and quality rank of a naval fleet, reflecting the high standards Longines aimed to achieve with this collection. Today, well-preserved examples from the 1970s continue to draw appreciation for their enduring design and reliable mechanics.
