The dial furniture includes the applied "Seiko" and "5" shield logos beneath the twelve o'clock position, alongside the printed "Sportmatic" script. Above six o'clock, the printed text denotes "Deluxe" and "Diashock 25 Jewels." The dial is remarkably clean, showing no significant spots, moisture marks, or discoloration, maintaining a fresh and crisp appearance. The faceted dauphine hands are in excellent condition, complementing the indices perfectly. A framed day-date aperture is positioned at three o'clock, with the Sunday text rendered in red.
Case and Crystal
The 37mm stainless steel case retains strong, defined lines and a robust vintage presence. The standout feature is the distinctive fluted bezel, which adds a layer of texture and elegance to the overall aesthetic. The lugs remain sharp with well-defined transitions between the brushed upper surfaces and polished flanks, showing only light, honest handling marks consistent with careful wear over the decades. The recessed crown at the four o'clock position maintains the sleek profile of the case, while the quickset pusher sits above it at the two o'clock position. The domed acrylic crystal is clear and free of deep scratches, offering an unobstructed view of the dial. The screw-down caseback is clearly engraved with the Seiko dolphin motif, reference number 7619-7040, and serial number 6000008, remaining highly legible.
Movement
Powering this Sportmatic Deluxe is the Seiko automatic caliber 7619A, featuring 25 jewels and the Diashock anti-shock system. The movement presents cleanly, with the rotor signed with red text indicating the caliber and jewel count. The intricate mechanical architecture, including the balance wheel and gear train, is visible and appears well-maintained. The movement features a push-button quickset for the date, a practical innovation for the era. Performing well within expected vintage tolerances; running strong and steady. The timegrapher result indicates a performance of +16 to +21 seconds per day.

The watch is fitted with a black leather strap featuring distinctive white cross-stitching along the edges. The strap provides a comfortable fit and complements the vintage character of the timepiece, securing with a standard stainless steel pin buckle.

The stainless steel case and fluted bezel retain sharp lines and show only minor, age-appropriate signs of use. The crystal is clear, and the caseback engravings remain distinct.
