Dial and Hands
The dial is a captivating, vibrant green with a deep, swirling texture that catches the light beautifully. It features applied gold-tone, blocky indices with black central stripes, matched by faceted gold-tone hands with black inserts. A framed day-date window sits at three o'clock. The dial text, including the applied Seiko and LM logos, remains crisp. Close inspection reveals some wear and degradation along the dial edges, particularly visible near the corners, as well as some light marking and dust beneath the crystal. The hands show some age-consistent oxidation but retain their strong visual presence.
Case and Crystal
The 34mm stainless steel square case is a standout feature, exhibiting sharp geometry with a broad, brushed front bezel and sharply angled, polished flanks. The transition between the brushed and polished surfaces remains well-defined, indicating good preservation of the factory finish. The case shows normal, honest signs of wear, including light surface scratches and scuffs consistent with its age, but no major dings or deep impacts. The faceted crystal adds depth to the dial but does show some light scratches and edge wear upon close inspection. The original crown is present and correctly proportioned. The caseback is clearly engraved with the reference 5606-5080 and serial number 380259.
Movement
The watch is powered by a Seiko automatic movement, a hallmark of the Lord Matic line known for its reliability and smooth operation. Performing well within expected vintage tolerances; running strong and steady. The timegrapher result reads 29s+35s/day.
Strap
The watch is fitted with an original Seiko LM stainless steel bracelet, featuring a folded-link design and a signed clasp. The bracelet shows moderate wear and stretch typical of its age, with some surface scratches on the links and clasp. The endlinks are stamped XJB. It accommodates a wrist size of approximately 17.5cm.
Condition
This Seiko Lord Matic is in good vintage condition. The case retains strong lines and factory finishes despite normal wear. The highly textured green dial is visually stunning, though it does exhibit some edge degradation and minor marks. The hands show light oxidation. The faceted crystal has some light wear. The original bracelet is present and wearable.

History
Introduced in 1968, the Seiko Lord Matic (LM) series was designed to be a premium offering for the everyday professional. Sitting comfortably below the top-tier Grand and King Seiko lines, the Lord Matic offered high-quality automatic movements, often with hacking and hand-winding capabilities, housed in a wide array of case designs. The 5600 series movements used in many LMs were highly regarded and even formed the basis for some King and Grand Seiko calibers. The Lord Matic line perfectly encapsulates Seiko's design philosophy of the late 60s and 70s, blending technical proficiency with adventurous and varied aesthetics.
