Dial and Hands
The dial is a visual standout, featuring a deep charcoal grey surface finished with a refined vertical brushing that catches the light beautifully. It is adorned with highly polished, applied silver-tone indices, notably utilizing bold Roman numerals at the twelve, six, and nine o'clock positions. The applied Seiko and LM logos sit proudly on the dial, complemented by the crisp white printing of the Lord Matic text and the Suwa factory emblem. A faceted silver-tone window frame at three o'clock elegantly displays the day and date. While the dial retains its distinctive aesthetic, there are evident signs of wear and age present across the surface. The silver-tone baton hands feature a central white stripe for contrast and remain presentable, sweeping smoothly alongside the slender seconds hand.
Case and Crystal
The 32 millimeter stainless steel case features a compelling rectangular cushion profile, characteristic of the era. The case architecture elegantly balances brushed upper surfaces with high-polish flanks and a polished bezel framing the dial. The transition between these finishes remains visible, though the case exhibits honest, age-consistent hairline scratches and light handling marks throughout, indicative of normal wear over the decades. The coin-edge crown is neatly tucked into the case flank at three o'clock. The raised crystal protects the dial effectively, remaining clear and presenting the dial details sharply, with only minimal surface wear consistent with the watch's vintage status.
Movement
Inside beats the esteemed Seiko caliber 5606, a 23-jewel automatic movement renowned for its sophisticated architecture and smooth operation. The solid stainless steel caseback clearly displays the factory engravings, including the reference number 5606-5000, the Suwa factory logo, and the serial number 193418. Running in vintage operational condition. Maintains the authentic mechanical character of the era. The timegrapher results reflect a deviation of -41 to -50 seconds per day.
Strap
This Lord Matic is fitted with its original stainless steel bracelet, a highly distinctive design featuring open, slotted links that provide excellent wrist presence and breathability. The folding clasp is proudly stamped with the Seiko LM branding, confirming its originality. The bracelet shows typical surface scratches commensurate with its age but remains structurally sound and highly complementary to the case design, accommodating a wrist size of up to 17.5 centimeters.
Condition
Honest vintage condition. The watch presents well on the wrist, but the dial shows clear signs of wear and aging. The case displays typical wear for its age, and the original signed bracelet completes this cohesive vintage package.

Remarks
The caliber 5606 is a historically significant movement for Seiko, offering a sophisticated mechanism that was highly advanced for its time. Finding an example with its original, uniquely styled slotted bracelet intact elevates the collectibility of this piece, offering a true snapshot of 1970s design.
History
Introduced in the late 1960s, the Seiko Lord Matic was positioned just below the King Seiko and Grand Seiko lines, utilizing many of the same high-quality movement components and design philosophies. The LM series became a canvas for Seiko's most expressive case and dial designs during the 1970s, perfectly capturing the transition from the conservative styling of the mid-century to the bold, geometric experimentation of the era.
