Now available at auction from Second Vintage This 1973 Omega Constellation is a highly sought-after classic, defined by its sharp C-shape tonneau case and a pristine vertically brushed silver dial. Complete with its original signed brick-link bracelet and powered by the chronometer-certified Caliber 1011, it is an outstanding example of 1970s watchmaking. Brand: Omega Model: Constellation Reference Number: ST 168 0056 Serial Number: 36134907 Movement: Automatic, Caliber 1011, 23 Jewels Dial: Silver-white with vertical brushed texture Case Size: 35 mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Stainless steel Production Year: 1973 Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Timegrapher: +6+10s/day, performing remarkably well. Dial and Hands The pristine and highly legible silver-white dial features a striking vertical brushed texture. Applied indices with black inserts provide excellent contrast, perfectly matched by the clean stick hands, which also feature black inserts and show no visible oxidation. The dial surface remains exceptionally clean, exhibiting no visible spotting or damage, while the printing remains crisp throughout. Case and Crystal The well-preserved stainless steel tonneau case retains its sharp geometry, showcasing a classic C-shape profile. The brushed finish is beautifully complemented by polished chamfers, presenting only light surface scratches consistent with careful wear. The smooth, integrated style bezel exhibits light hairline scratches. A signed Omega crown with a knurled edge sits at three o'clock. The flat crystal is clear, showing no obvious scratches or chips visible. Turning the watch over reveals a personal engraving on the caseback reading 'M.to.N. 1975.4.20', adding a touch of unique provenance to the piece. Movement Inside beats the chronometer-certified Omega Caliber 1011 automatic movement, featuring 23 jewels and adjusted to five positions and temperature. This advanced 1970s caliber includes a quickset date and a stop-seconds hacking function. Visually, the movement displays Omega's signature copper-colored finish, presenting a clean appearance with no visible corrosion or damage. Exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. The timegrapher records a rate of +6+10s/day. Strap The watch is fitted with its original signed stainless steel brick-link bracelet, complete with the correct '518' marked endlinks. This well-preserved, integrated style bracelet features a signed Omega clasp and shows only light wear on the clasp and links. It will accommodate a maximum wrist size of up to 19cm. Condition Excellent vintage condition. The dial is remarkably clean and free of spots or damage, while the hands remain bright and unoxidized. The stainless steel case retains sharp edges and distinct finishes, displaying only light, acceptable wear. The original bracelet is similarly well-preserved. Supported by the recorded timegrapher result of +6+10s/day, the movement is performing very strongly. Dimensions The case measures 35 mm in diameter (excluding the crown). Remarks This Constellation is a collector favourite, offering a compelling blend of 1970s C-shape geometry and an exceptionally well-preserved dial. The presence of the original brick-link bracelet and the strong performance of the chronometer-certified Caliber 1011 make this a superb acquisition. History The Omega Constellation reference ST 168.0056 was introduced into the brand's international collection in 1972. It embraced the classic C-shape case geometry, a sophisticated evolution of the cushion case that became highly appreciated by collectors of this era. Powered by the advanced Caliber 1011, a chronometer-certified movement with quickset and hacking capabilities, this generation of the Constellation represents a high point for Omega's mechanical design and technical refinement.
