    Om dette ur

Presented for auction by Second Vintage The classic vintage Longines Admiral presented here draws the eye immediately to its well-preserved sunburst dial, proudly displaying the applied five-star winged hourglass logo. Housed in a distinctive cushion-shaped case, this 1970s timepiece offers a highly attractive dial configuration paired with impressive mechanical performance. Brand: Longines Model: Admiral Serial Number: 15693989 Movement: Automatic Dial: Sunburst finish with applied gold-tone indices and five-star logo Case Size: 34mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Gold-tone, stainless steel caseback Production Year: 1970s Condition: Good vintage condition. Timegrapher: +2+3s/day, performing remarkably well. Dial and Hands The dial is well-preserved and attractive, featuring a clean sunburst finish that shows minimal signs of aging. Applied gold-tone indices with black inserts circle the dial, perfectly complementing the applied winged hourglass logo and the signature five stars. The dial text clearly denotes the Longines name, automatic winding, and the Admiral model, finished with "T - SWISS MADE - T" at the bottom edge. The gold-tone baton hands feature matching black inserts and luminous material, displaying honest aging and minor oxidation visible under magnification that remains entirely consistent with the watch. Case and Crystal The watch features a distinctive cushion case geometry with a stainless steel caseback. The gold-tone case is in worn vintage condition, exhibiting heavy plating wear on the lugs and case edges that reveals the base metal beneath. Scratches and tarnish are present throughout the surfaces, reflecting its history of use. The integrated bezel flows directly into the case design. A gold-tone knurled crown is fitted, though its face is worn and any signature is indistinguishable. A domed acrylic crystal protects the dial, showing some light surface scratches while maintaining clear visibility of the display below. Movement Powering this Admiral is an automatic Longines movement. Recording +2+3s/day on the timegrapher, it is exhibiting remarkable accuracy and consistency, performing brilliantly for a vintage timepiece. Strap The watch is fitted with a modern black leather strap featuring contrast stitching, offering a comfortable and stylish pairing for the cushion case. Condition Good vintage condition. The dial is in excellent shape, remaining clean and highly attractive, while the hands show appropriate, honest aging. The gold-tone case is in fair condition, displaying significant plating loss, tarnish, and scratches throughout its surfaces. The domed acrylic crystal bears light surface scratches. The automatic movement is running very strongly, supported by the excellent recorded timegrapher results. Dimensions The case size is 34mm (excluding the crown). Remarks This Longines Admiral stands out through its exceptionally clean five-star sunburst dial and highly accurate mechanical performance. The distinct cushion case profile ensures strong presence on the wrist, making it a compelling choice for collectors of 1970s design. History The Longines Admiral model line was first introduced in the late 1950s, launched alongside the brand's well-known Flagship and Conquest collections. Over the decades, the Admiral earned its place as a distinguished offering within the Longines catalog, frequently featuring robust automatic movements and the signature five-star dial motif that enthusiasts continue to appreciate today.
